ABOUT BARNES HARLEY-DAVIDSON®
Welcome to Barnes Harley-Davidson®. Many times, people ask who is “Barnes” or how did the Barnes family get involved in the dealership business? Let us share with you our journey to where we are today.
The Barnes family has been in the Western Canadian automotive business for over 40 years. In 1981, Greg Barnes purchased his first General Motors dealership in Camrose, Alberta, and, since then, he and his family have successfully owned and operated dealerships with brands such as GM, Nissan, Chrysler, Harley-Davidson®, Honda, KTM, Kawasaki, and more. These ventures have taken the family to a number of regions, including Prince George, Victoria, Vernon, Kamloops, Edmonton, and the lower mainland where most currently reside. In 2020, Barnes Garage Co. was formed allowing for greater expansion into the powersports industry and beyond.
Virtually every member of the family has been or is still involved in the business. Brian Barnes, COO of Barnes Garage Co., has held virtually every position in a dealership since he started with the family in 1999. Aaron Barnes, having spent much of his career in finance, joined as CFO in late 2020. Ashley Marks, Greg’s daughter, works in recruitment, and has worked previously for the business as a merchandise manager and business office manager. Dayna Dueck, Greg’s eldest, was office manager for the car dealership, and Ingrid Barnes, Greg’s wife, managed marketing until her retirement in 2012. Greg continues on as President and Dealer Principal of all rooftops and divisions of Barnes Garage Co.
These businesses are an integral part of our identity as a family, and we think this shows in the level of commitment we have to our staff and customers.
